Cathedral by Candlelight

Want to experience something different this year for Halloween instead of the standard “trick-or-treaters”? Walk back in time with us into the depths of the Forest Cathedral with an historical character from the past. Come view the ancient forest as we walk beneath the giants by candlelight within the picturesque Tom’s Run Valley. Either a French Marine from the 1750’s who saw these massive trees 250 years ago, or a lumberman from the 1800’s will be there to guide us. Program begins at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom. Bring your flashlights! (2 hrs)

Summerville Halloween Parade

Show off your costume in the Summerville Halloween Parade.  Each child receives a treat from the fire company.  Trick-or-treat through Summerville to follow after the parade.

Brookville Trick-Or-Treat & Parade

Brookville YMCA 125 Main Street, Brookville, PA, United States

Brookville community Trick-Or-Treat will be on Friday, October 31st 6:00pm-8:00pm, with the costume parade starting at the YMCA at 5:30pm and ending at the Brookville Fire Company with treats for the kids before they head out to trick-or-treat. 

Election Day Soup Fundraiser

Warm up after casting your vote and support the Heritage House Senior Center! Stop by on Tuesday, November 4th for a hearty quart of soup — choose from Chicken Noodle or Vegetable Beef — prepared by Shannon’s Catering. Quarts are $10 each and available starting at 8:00 AM until sold out. Pre-orders are encouraged and can be picked up from 8:00–11:30 AM. Pre-order by October 28 by calling (814) 849-3391. Proceeds help Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging continue its mission of providing meals, activities, and vital support services that keep our older adults connected, healthy, and engaged in in our community. Owl Prowl

Please bring your flashlights and meet at the Park Office for an evening driving tour to owling hotspots in Cook Forest. Explore the old growth forest and National Wild & Scenic Clarion River at night for Pennsylvania’s secretive owls. Barred, great horned, screech, and saw-whet owls have been known to make an appearance. (3 hrs)

Browse through the unique specialty stores for a one of a kind shopping experience from along the 20-mile scenic corridor through Cook Forest State Park to historic Brookville! The pre-Christmas shopping extravaganza has diverse array of items that are sure to please every taste whether you are looking for yourself or someone on your list.
