These presentations are free to the public and held at the Heritage House,4 Sylvania St.,Brookville , on the first Wednesday of the month  through April,beginning at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday April 1,"Claron River History" will be presented by Dale Luthringer,Environmental Education Specialist.

    Join environmental education specialist Dale Luthringer for an engaging presentation on the rich and evolving history of the Clarion River. Hosted by the Jefferson County History Center, this program is the final installment in the “Window to the Past: Hidden Histories and Stories of Jefferson County” series. Luthringer will take attendees on a journey from Native American presence along the river to the rise of lumbering, mills, and industry, and through to today’s conservation and environmental recovery efforts. Known for his storytelling and deep knowledge of the region, he will highlight historic sites and share insights into early tools, techniques, and the legacy of the river.  Date: April 1  Time: 6:30 PM  Location: Heritage House  Cost: Free and open to the public Don’t miss this fascinating look into one of our region’s most important natural and historical resources!

  • Free Easter Movie

    The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will host its "Bunnies in Blue" free Easter movie night on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Moonlite Drive-In Theatre in Brookville. Gates open at 5:00 PM, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 0–10 at 5:30 PM. Attendees can enjoy a free screening of the movie Hop and meet the Easter Bunny for photos. The Sheriff's Office will also provide free Easter care packages containing non-perishable food for families in need. Packages are available on a first-come, first-served basis from a designated patrol cruiser. Those wishing to support the cause can find a donation box for care package items in the lobby of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
