The Brookville Laurel Festival is excited to announce their annual Murder Mystery Dinner is happening on Saturday, May 3rd! Step into the enchanting Sherwood Forest, where a rakish Robin, a sly Sheriff, and a not-so-merry band of men find themselves in a contest where the prize is... murder!  With Pittsburgh's #1 interactive dinner theater company leading the way, you'll become part of the story as you uncover clues, engage with the characters, and attempt to solve the crime before the night is over. Your ticket includes a full evening of entertainment, a delicious meal, and dessert.  Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages to enjoy throughout the night.  Doors open at 4:30pm, giving you plenty of time to settle in before dinner is served at 6:00pm.  As part of the festivities, you can also take part in a basket raffle and 50/50 raffle, adding more excitement to the night. Cook Forest State Park will host a series of living history events depicting life during the French & Indian War.  Highlights of this full two-day encampment include woodland natives, cannon and musket firing, cooking, primitive skills, blacksmithing, tinsmithing, pottery, children’s games, sutler camp, renown living historians, French & Indian War Era artisans, and live tactical engagements.  Every battle is different!  Take a walk back in time along the Black Bear Trail by the Sawmill Center for the Arts during open camp hours to view   British, Colonial, French, and Native American re-enactors as they portray lifestyles of the 18th century. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Sunday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This festival features carefully hand-carved creations which are judged by professional carvers.  In addition to the carvings, we are adding other wooden works of art to the festival.  These impressive works of art are displayed throughout the weekend, and many are available for purchase. Demonstrations and a woodcarving class will round out the event. This free event features a diverse lineup of Christian artists, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to connect with others in a positive and uplifting environment. Event Highlights: Friday Evening (August 22): Kick-off with performances by GloryWay and Resurrected Christian Band starting at 6:00 PM Saturday (August 23): Music from noon to 9:00 PM, featuring Celebrate Hope, Jonathan White, Justin Robbins, Appollo and Tribe, The Band 814, David Leonard, and Jordan St. Cyr Sunday Morning (August 24): Early morning worship service at 9:00 AM, followed by a free pancake and sausage breakfast. Enjoy concessions provided by Women of the Well Ministries, a children's event hosted by Roseville Independent Chapel from 3:00–5:00 PM on Saturday, and vendors throughout the weekend.
