Jobs may include trail maintenance, litter pickup, painting, wood stacking, etc. Free camping Friday & Saturday nights will be available for volunteers, with prior notice received by 10/6. If you are planning to join us for the day, please contact the Park Office (814)744-8407 at least two weeks in advance so that we can have a volunteer project lined up for you. Lunch provided! ![]() Join Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club mycologists & identifiers at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom for a moderate hike through the Forest Cathedral at night. We will use 365nm UV flashlights to light up the trail and search for fungi that glow in response to ultraviolet light. Expect to walk 1-2 miles, but participants can shorten the distance as needed. Participants should bring a headlamp, ideally with a red light, and wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Participants are encouraged to bring their own UV flashlight. Leaders will provide protective eyewear. |
