From the elegance of the Scholarship Pageant to the excitement of the Grand Parade, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. 👑 The Kickoff Saturday, June 6: Scholarship Pageant – Witness the crowning of the 2026 Laurel Festival Queen as we celebrate the leadership and talent of our local contestants. 📅 Festival Week: June 13–20 Saturday, June 13 | Art in the Park A vibrant start to the week featuring local artisans, live creativity, and a beautiful evening atmosphere. Sunday, June 14 | Car Show & 5K Kick off the morning with our annual 5K run, followed by an afternoon showcasing classic cars and local craftsmanship. Monday, June 15 | Outdoor Night Relax and enjoy the fresh air with activities designed for the whole community. Tuesday, June 16 | Family Night A dedicated evening for games, laughter, and making memories with the kids. Wednesday, June 17 | Relay for Life & Pet Parade A day of heart and hope. We honor survivors and fighters at the Relay for Life, followed by Brookville’s favorite tradition—the Pet Parade! 🐾 Thursday, June 18 | Kid’s Night A high-energy night packed with specialized activities and entertainment just for the little ones. Friday, June 19 | Sidewalk Sales & Manufacturing Tours Discover the best of Brookville! Shop local deals along Main Street and take a behind-the-scenes look at our town's industrial heritage. Saturday, June 20 | The Grand Parade The week concludes with our premier event!     Sloppy Science Day returns to the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center on Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Get ready for a day full of messy, hands-on fun with activities like Ocean Dig, Man-Sized Bubbles, Giant Spin Art Painting, Seaside Stamping, and Shooting Soda Geysers. It’s all about getting a little sloppy while learning a lot—kids will explore science in the most entertaining (and messiest) way possible! Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is excited to announce we’re heading to the concourse at Peoples Natural Gas Field for the Altoona Curve game on Sunday, June 28—and it’s shaping up to be a perfectly sunny Family Day at the ballpark! Bring your crew out for a day that’s sure to be a home run: enjoy the game, explore our traveling exhibits on the concourse, and hang out with your Weather Center friends—all while cheering on the Curve. And the forecast? A cool front of savings! Score Level 100 tickets for just $12 each. Game time is 1:00 p.m. as the Altoona Curve host the Reading Fightin’ Phils. Kids Run the Bases After the game, kids 12 & under can round the bases like all-stars! (Children 6 & under may be accompanied by an adult.)      Future Expositions: The Plan Each year our Spring Exposition features a particular engine.  Here are the featured engines for upcoming years of Expositions. June 18, 19, and 20, 2026 - Hot Air Engines of the World This Exposition will feature the hot air (Stirling) engines, fans, and numerous past and present thermal operated toys and models from across the globe! The museum currently showcases several of these unique and interesting operating machines and a record number are expected to show up for the show. Our chairman for this event is well known and respected for his knowledge of these engines, and their past, present, and future value to mankind. Exposition Chairman: Dr. Brent Rowell June 17, 18, and 19, 2027 - Crossley Bros. and other English Engines The focus of this event will showcase these uniquely designed engines. They have become popular with collectors and engine enthusiasts here in the states and abroad. The museum showcases of these engines. We look forward to seeing these engines for the Exposition! Our knowledgeable chairman promises a great Exposition! Exposition Chairman: Wayne Grenning June 15, 16, and 17, 2028 - Diesel, Air Blast & Oil Engines This event will showcase our new “Diesel Centrale CPM” building with the M.A.N. Diesel, the Graz Diesel, and the Benz Diesel engines. The museum also has an extensive display of Oil Engines in the “Power Technology Building Annex” building. Exposition Chairman: Mike Murphy June 14, 15, and 16, 2029 - The “Otto” Gas and Gasoline Engines This event will showcase the famous Otto Gas and Gasoline Engine Company of Philadelphia, PA. Founded as Schleicher, Schumm & Co. in 1876 by its German parent company, the firm later became Otto Gas Engine Works in honor of the founder and father of our modern four-cycle engine, Dr. Nicholas Otto. Exposition Chairman: Chris Epping June 13, 14, and 15, 2030 - John Deere, Root & VanDervoort, & Waterloo Boy This event will feature the John Deere, R & V, and the Waterloo Boy gas engines.
