Come join us for a day of fun wintry activities along the picturesque National Wild & Scenic Clarion River within Cook Forest State Park.  Various activities will be held at the new River Pavilion by the playground on River Road approximately  1-mile up-river from the RT36 Cooksburg Bridge: 1130am - Chili Cook-Off (hot & mild divisions) 1130am-230pm - carriage rides, sledding, snowman building, ice skating (ice skates available) 1200-100pm - Snowshoe interpretive hike within the old growth forest along Cook Trail, meet at the new River Pavilion 100pm - Happy Dog Contest Come sample the chili during the ‘Free Chili Cook-Off’, that is, after the judges have tried some first.  Hot chocolate and coffee will be on hand to help take the chill out of your bones.  Enjoy a wonderful day among family and friends in Cooksburg’s winter wonderland.  Event sponsored by the Cook Forest Vacation Bureau.  (3 hrs)   Most activities are held at the new River Pavilion by the playground on River Road, approximately 1-mile up-river from Route 36 Cooksburg Bridge.

Cook Forest State Park will host a series of living history events depicting life during the French & Indian War.  Highlights of this full two-day encampment include woodland natives, cannon and musket firing, cooking, primitive skills, blacksmithing, tinsmithing, pottery, children’s games, sutler camp, renown living historians, French & Indian War Era artisans, and live tactical engagements.  Every battle is different!  Take a walk back in time along the Black Bear Trail by the Sawmill Center for the Arts during open camp hours to view   British, Colonial, French, and Native American re-enactors as they portray lifestyles of the 18th century. The 2025 Brookville Laurel Festival Autorama, will be broken down into 16 classes, as well as Best of Show, Queen's Choice, and Board’s Choice. ● Registration fee is $10.00 per vehicle ○ $7.00 entry fee if you pre-register (postmarked by 5/15/25) Trophies are to be awarded for 1st place, 2nd, and 3rd place for all classes, and for Queen’s Choice, Best of Show, and Board’s Choice. Parking begins at 8:00 a.m. and the show starts at Noon with award ceremony around 3pm.
