We are over halfway full for every session, so be sure to register your camper soon! 2026 Summer Camp will be held at the Weather Discovery Center on July 8, 15, and 22 with our all-new series: “What’s Up With This Wind?” It’s going to be a whirlwind of fun as we dive into everything wind—how it forms, how it moves, and why it can really blow us away! From breezy experiments to gusty discoveries, this camp is sure to sweep kids off their feet. Registration is required- and with limited space, spots are flying away fast —so be ready to sign up before they’re gone with the wind!

Whether you're a seasoned archer or just looking for a great day outdoors, the Jake Popson Memorial Bow Shoot offers a unique experience for everyone. This event honors Jake’s legacy with a day of friendly competition on a scenic 30-target 3-D course, complete with quirky challenges and precision novelty shoots. Event Details: When: Saturday, July 18, 2026 Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Scorecards due by 2:00 PM) Where: 769 Smail Road, Corsica, PA Food: Complimentary meal for all registered shooters (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM) Highlights & Challenges: 3-D Course: 30 targets set through beautiful, scenic terrain. Iron Target Challenge: A high-stakes elimination shoot at 2:30 PM for a chance to win prizes. Novelty Shoots: Test your skills with the Inside Out and Rat Trap challenges. Auction & Prizes: Participate in the Chinese Auction and various archery raffles.   • Coolspring Power Museum “History Day”

    At Coolspring Power Museum Coolspring Power Museum is hosting "History Day" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be volunteers throughout the museum buildings and grounds to give presentations on the history of many engines in the museum along with the history of the museum itself. They will explain when and where the engines were built and what they were used for. A brief description will be given on how the engines operate and why each manufacturer made his a little different than others. Many engines will be running throughout the day, with a scheduled start-up for the larger engines. Engineers will explain how they start an engine and answer any questions you might have. History Day will give you the opportunity to have a personal tour of the museum and the freedom to do so at your own pace. Volunteers will be on hand to show you why the Coolspring Power Museum has the finest antique engine collection in the world. The gift shop will be open all day for any souvenirs or apparel you might be interested in. Restroom facilities that are wheelchair accessible are available and there are plenty of benches throughout the grounds for taking a break. A food vendor will be on-site if you wish to purchase lunch or refreshments.  All parking is free.     Antique Car, Truck & Tractor Show July 18, 2026 At the Coolspring Power Museum Exhibitor Field This is a show for fun!  No judging of cars, trucks, or tractors. No vehicle is too large or too small. We will also be having History Day with the show and many engines will be running along with guided tours of the museum available. A food vendor will be on-site if you wish to purchase lunch or refreshments. A donation to CPM for showing your vehicle is appreciated. Admission is $12 unless you are showing a vehicle.  Two free admissions per vehicle. Questions?  Please call Stewart McKinley at 814-316-1794 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Eastern Time. The show events are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Clear Creek 4 Mile Boat Launch

    Clear Creek Boat Launch

    Cook Forest & Clear Creek State Parks will be conducting a 7.3-mile interpretive float down the National Wild & Scenic Clarion River from Clear Creek’s boat launch to Cook Forest’s 4-mile launch. Odds are pretty good we’ll see plenty of otter signs. Along the way we’ll go past remnants of the old bridge, dam, and raft building sites of Clarington, go through the ripple and past rock cliffs of Hogback, and talk about the rafting tragedy of Maze Gap. Fishing is good along this stretch, don’t forget your poles! Only experienced boaters permitted. Please meet at the Clear Creek canoe launch neat the playground. Participants must pre-register by 7/20 by contacting the Cook Forest Park Office at (814) 744-8407. Registration limited to 10 boats. Cost is $50/boat payable by cash, check, or money order made out to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. All boats, gear, and lunch provided. Prior Cook Forest kayak training participants receive a 50% discount. Register early, available spots go fast! See you on the river!
