This festival features carefully hand-carved creations which are judged by professional carvers. in addition to the carvings,we are adding other wooden works of art to the festtival. These impressive works of art are displayed throught the weekend,and many are available for purchase. Demonstrations and a woodcarving class will round out the event
Shark Week at the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery CenterDates: Friday, July 19 & Saturday, July 20, 2025Location: Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center Dive into Shark Week fun at the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center! On July 19 and 20, visitors can enjoy a fin-tastic, self-guided shark-themed craft in the Center’s classroom. Create your own "jaw-some" shark necklace to take home as a fun souvenir—all included FREE with paid admission. This family-friendly activity is perfect for shark lovers of all ages and will be available during regular operating hours. No registration required—just stop in and join the fun!
Get the Kids out ofb the house for a few hours during Christmas break and have them do something creative. They will create a painting(design TBA) get to sip hot cocoa,eat cookies and expel some of thst energy that is bound to be driving you up a wall. A parent or guardian must accompany there child.
Please meet at the Park Office where we will conduct a driving “battlefield tour” to historic lumber sites on the Clarion River. See where the community 40ft long dugout canoe was likely kept, recollect about the great Ol’ Copper Still on Whiskey Run, recount “Wash” Dunkle’s epic fist fight, contemplate the Maze Gap drowning, and view remnants of the Bartley Mill.
