Arthurs Memorial Library, these hands-on sessions are designed to engage young minds in the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.   • Women’sHike Series

    May 17 h Come Nurture your Mental and Physical health during a Sunday evening hike. We will meet at the Ridge Camp Pavilion, in Cook Forest State Park. (Across from the entrance to the Firepower on Rt. 36) Moderate Level Hiking with some rough terrain and a few hills (Not a paved level path). Approximately 2 hours long. Open to all women ages 14 and up. Dogs on a leash. Rain or Shine! Weather permitting and pending interest of the group, we will branch off into two groups. One group will venture onto a more rigorous path while the other group will continue on a path to relax and enjoy being in nature.   • Cook Forest Living History Weekend

    Please join us for a fun filled weekend of living history as we journey through various historical eras of the United States: French & Indian War, Colonial Period, Revolutionary War, and Civil War.  Living historian and master story-teller Paul Stillman, historical interpreters Dave Clark and John King, Grammy nominated singer-song writer-storyteller, Ray Owen, with special guest appearances from President Abe Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin, as they take us through these noteworthy periods of American history through first person character portrayals, hands-on demonstrations, and song.    Friday, May 22, 2026 9am to 9am More dates through May 24, 2026

  • French & Indian War Encampment

    Cook Forest State Park 100 PA 36, Cooksburg, PA, United States

    Cook Forest State Park will host a series of living history events depicting life during the French & Indian War. Highlights of this full two-day encampment include children’s programs, woodland natives, cannon and musket firing demonstrations, sutler camp, council and trading events, nationally renowned living historians, French & Indian War era artisans, and live tactical engagements. Every battle is different! Take a walk back in time at the Sawmill Center for the Arts to view British, Colonial, French, and American Indian re-enactors as they portray lifestyles of the 18th century.
