There is something about Christmas as a child that stays with you forever. The excitement of twinkling lights, the anticipation of Christmas morning, and the wonder of believing in a little magic. On Friday, November 27, Historic Downtown Brookville will bring those memories to life as the Brookville Holiday Association welcomes families to the annual Christmas Kickoff Celebration.

Beginning at 5pm, downtown will be filled with activities for kids, festive treats, and hometown traditions. The celebration builds toward the Christmas Parade anticipating the grand arrival of Santa Claus to light the town’s tree! Colorful floats, creative scenes, iconic characters, and plenty of Christmas cheer will fill Main Street. For the children waiting with wide eyes and hopeful hearts, it is a moment that makes Christmas feel real. For families, it is a chance to create memories that last long after the decorations come down.

There is plenty of friendly festive competition, too! The Ugly Sweater Contest invites participants to show off their most outrageous holiday attire. The Home Decorating Contest brings Christmas cheer to neighborhoods throughout the Brookville area, while the Main Street Window Decorating Contest challenges downtown businesses to transform their storefronts into Christmas scenes inviting visitors to stroll Main Street and vote for their favorite.

The Brookville Holiday Association invites everyone to bring the family, gather their friends, and experience the magic of Christmas in Historic Downtown Brookville. Mark your calendar for Friday, November 27^th starting at 5pm (parade steps off at 7pm), and get ready for a night filled with laughter, lights, and hometown pride.

Businesses, organizations, groups, and individuals interested in helping make the celebration possible are encouraged to get involved – financial contributions, parade entries, vendor setups, contest participation, and volunteering! This celebration comes to life through the generosity of our community. Donations and volunteers make it possible to offer families a night of Christmas magic everyone can enjoy at no cost.
