Think Local First:  Brookville Chamber Invites You to Shop Small This Holiday

This holiday season, the Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging you to Think Local First and support the small businesses that make our community strong by shopping local during Small Business Weekend, Saturday, November 29th and Sunday, November 30th throughout the Brookville area. In a world where it’s easy to click “add to cart” or standing in line at a big-box store, it’s more important than ever to remember what happens when we choose to support the businesses right here at home. Every dollar spent at a small business stays right here to strengthen our local economy and support the people who live and work among us.  When you shop small, you’re helping a little girl take dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom put food on the table, a dad pay the mortgage, or a college student afford tuition. “We don’t have large chain restaurants or shopping malls in Brookville,” said Jamie Popson, Executive Director of the Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce, “but what we do have is a warm smile that greets you, genuine service from someone who knows your name, a personal touch to help you find just the right thing, and a shopping experience where you leave with more than your purchase, you leave with a new friend.” Small Business Weekend in Brookville will be filled with festive fun and community spirit. Shoppers can enjoy giveaways, discounts, specials, and a free tote bag sponsored by local businesses eager to thank you for choosing local. It’s the perfect time to explore the variety Brookville has to offer, discover unique holiday gifts, and enjoy the charm of small-town shopping at its best. From curated vintage treasures and elegant home décor, chic fashion, luxurious fragrances, intimate accessories, gourmet treats, and festive finds, the Brookville area is full of surprises. You’ll discover outdoor gear and quality workwear featuring trusted brands and so much more. Every corner of Brookville offers something special — a blend of creativity, tradition, and personality that makes shopping local a true destination of discovery. With rising costs and challenges touching everyone in some way, this season is a reminder that kindness costs nothing and that supporting your neighbors makes a real difference. Every purchase, no matter how small, helps keep our community strong and thriving. Small Business Weekend is more than a shopping event — it’s a celebration of community, connection, and the people who make Brookville feel like home.
