DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate America’s 250th birthday as you walk back in time in our to observe\, and possibly sample\, historical cast iron cooking from our nation’s past.  State park educators from North Central and Western PA will be dressed in period clothing preparing period dishes that relate back to their park from our nation’s founding to the late 1800’s.  This is a one-time-only new park event that you will NOT want to miss!  Located at our River Cabin area\, just upstream from our new River Pavilion along River Road about 1 mile up-river from the RT36 Cooksburg Bridge. \n\n\n\n Saturday\, September 19\, 2026 11am to 3pm  \n\nFriday\, May 22 from 800-900pm\n‘An Evening with President Lincoln and the First Lady’ Please bring your chairs and blankets and meet\nat the Ridge Camp Park Amphitheater for an evening with Mr. &amp; Mrs Lincoln\, learning how they met\nbefore his tumultuous presidential career. Take a musical journey through history with a crew of\ncolorful characters wearing an array of period hats that step out of history and onto the stage. A spirited\nAmerican odyssey that ventures from the steam engine to the search engine\, the Buffalo chips to the\nmicrochips\, engaging the past to enlighten our future. DESCRIPTION:Sep.27\,2026\nhttps://events.dcnr.pa.gov/event/womens-hiking-series\nCome Nurture your Mental and Physical health during a Sunday evening hike. We will meet at the Ridge Camp Pavilion\, in Cook Forest State Park. (Across from the entrance to the Firepower on Rt. 36) Moderate Level Hiking with some rough terrain and a few hills (Not a paved level path). Approximately 2 hours long. Open to all women ages 14 and up. Dogs on a leash. Rain or Shine! Weather permitting and pending interest of the group\, we will branch off into two groups. One group will venture onto a more rigorous path while the other group will continue on a path to relax and enjoy being in nature.
