Firebird Wingshoot Sep 26, 2010 Area Conservation Group to hold Fundraiser Sporting Clays Shoot in Dubois Proceeds used to restore and protect grouse and woodcock habitat The Bonasa Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) will hold its second annual Sporting Clays Shoot at the Firebird Wingshooting Club, 2178 Mendenhall Road, Brookville, PA on Sunday, September 26, 2010 beginning with registration at 9:45 a.m. (Shoot runs from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.). According to Tom Noble, registration for this 100 target shoot is $50 per shooter, and includes lunch, prizes and awards in several categories. There is also an optional Lewis Class, Senior Class and Side x Side at $5 each. As with all RGS fundraisers, proceeds from this event will be used to restore and protect grouse and woodcock habitat. Annual Antique Firearms and Indian Artifact Show Sep 4, 2010 The Jefferson County Historical Society and Chapter 29 of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology present our 5th Annual Antique Firearms & Indian Artifacts Show on Saturday, September 4th, 2010 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 pm at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds (Route 28 approximately 1 mile north of Interstate 80 exit 81) At this time we are registering vendors and exhibitors for this 80+ table event which is limited to weapons of pre-1898 vintage with a special interest in Western Pennsylvania Muzzleloaders Vendors and exhibitors are also welcome to exhibit or sell reproduction rifles, accouterments, artifacts, publications or other items relating to the time period and hobby We ask that vendors do NOT include authentic artifacts of Native American origin in your sales, but do invite you to exhibit such items. Vendor tables are $20.00 each / Exhibit tables are free Please contact the JCHC at (814) 849-0077 to pre-register for your tables. The second building at this event is held by the North Fork Chapter of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology and includes Native American artifacts found through Pennsylvania and adjoining states.
