The Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce to Hold Porch Party Event
The Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing back The Porch Party! The event is to be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
The event begins at 6:00 p.m. in the evening as participants meet on four differently themed porches of several beautiful homes in town. Groups will travel from porch to porch to enjoy food and beverages hosted by the homeowner, and a chance to win some fabulous prizes at each stop, each valued at over $100. Each home will have one of 5 prizes displayed along with the winning ticket number to be matched to participants’ door prize tickets.
This popular event was held in 2008 with great success. The Brookville Chamber of Commerce is pleased to bring it back for 2010. Traffic pattern transitions planned for the Route 119 Punxsutawney Bridge replacement project in Jefferson County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that construction work continues on the State Route (SR) 119 Punxsutawney Bridge replacement project over Mahoning Creek in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.
On Tuesday, June 22, 2010, in the early morning, the one lane of alternating traffic across the bridge will be moved from the southbound lane to the northbound lane. Currently all traffic is using the signal-controlled southbound lane to cross the structure and the transition will move all traffic to the newly constructed northbound lanes still being controlled by a traffic signal.
This bridge project will replace the existing 200’ structure with a 220’ two-span, steel plate girder bridge. The anticipated project completion is October, 2010. Project construction will be completed using ˝ width bridge construction. Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop. Motorists are also asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
This is a $5.3 million project with work being completed by Francis J. Palo, Inc., of Clarion, Clarion County.

Temporary bridge open to traffic on the SR 322 Blakes Bridge replacement project in Jefferson County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is providing updated information regarding progress of the State Route (SR) 322 Blakes Bridge replacement project. Blakes Bridge is over North Fork Creek between Water Plant Road and SR 4005 (Richards Street) in Brookville Borough, Jefferson County.
Beginning later in the afternoon on Friday, June 18, 2010, traffic will be moved from the existing bridge to the new temporary bridge. The temporary bridge will provide two lanes of traffic with no lane restrictions. With traffic removed from the existing bridge, the contractor will begin demolition as they continue making progress in building the new bridge.
Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop. Motorists are also asked to turn on their headlights, slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
This is a $2.9 million project to provide replacement of the bridge with work being completed by Francis J. Palo, Inc., of Clarion, Clarion County.

Detour to begin for the Route 2007 Paradise Church Road Bridge replacement project in Jefferson County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that work is planned to begin on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, for the State Route (SR) 2007 Paradise Church Road Bridge Replacement project over McKee Run between T-517 (Kramer Road) and SR 2008 (Rock Dump Road) in Henderson Township, Jefferson County. The project is anticipated for completion in the beginning of July, 2010.
As a result of this project, a detour is necessary and will continue until the end of the project. Motorists are asked to use the following detour: SR 2007 to 2008 (Dump Road) to SR 119 back to SR 2007 (Pennsylvania Avenue/Big Run Road).
Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays, stoppages and be prepared to stop. Motorists are also asked to turn on their headlights, slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones.
Work is being performed by the Jefferson County PennDOT maintenance forces.
