The Iron Mountain Grille could be rightfully called a local Cinderella story.
A once lowly neighborhood bar has been transformed into a dazzling new restaurant. Located at 10638 Route 36 in Clarington, the magic took place over the past two years, a bit longer than the waving of a wand. But the results have been just as dramatic, and new owners Marybeth Hinds and Fred Dworek have been enjoying the amazed reactions ever since. “People who came when it was the old Jefferson Inn can’t believe it’s the same place,” notes Marybeth.
While it is the same location, the original modest facility has been extensively expanded and totally remodeled. With a new, professional kitchen the Iron Mountain Grille now features fine dining for the whole family, as well as a separate bar for the sports enthusiasts.
The rustic stone and timber styling makes for a welcome retreat the year around. The restaurant is open at 11am Wednesday-Sunday. Hours change slightly January through March – Please call for Winter Hours. Lunches include an array of sandwiches and salads, while dinners range from choice steaks to seafood entrees. Their ever-popular pizzas, wings, and homemade desserts are available all day.
Live entertainment is available on Friday and Saturday most weekends. Something is offered for everyone: country, rock and classic rock, dance music, easy listening, acoustic guitar, blues, and jazz. There are live bands, solo artists, DJ’s, karaoke, and even “Elvis.”
Whether it’s a special occasion or just the need to quench a thirst and watch the game in a comfortable setting, the Iron Mountain Grille and its friendly staff are waiting and welcoming.
